Most brides who book with us are expecting a rail of gowns and an afternoon of trying things on. That is what a boutique is for, and it is a perfectly good way to buy a dress. It is not what happens here.
A Drapemoda consultation is a private, one to one design conversation. Nothing is pulled off a rack, because there is no rack. What you leave with is a direction for a gown that does not exist yet.
Twelve decisions, and they lean on each other
A gown is not one decision. It is twelve, and each one narrows the next, which is why they are worked through together rather than filled in on a form:
- silhouette
- bodice
- neckline
- sleeves
- skirt
- in-skirt
- veil
- train
- fabric
- embroidery
- guidance on your body shape
- how the whole look is styled on the day, with your jewellery, footwear, hair and venue

Choose a heavily worked bodice and the sleeve has somewhere to stop being busy. Choose a cathedral veil and the back of the gown is now a design problem worth solving properly. None of that is visible on a mood board.
You do not have to know what you want
Brides arrive at three quite different places, and all three are normal.
Some come with hundreds of saved images. Those are a starting point rather than a template: the brief is to design something original that carries whatever it was you liked about them. We do not copy a design and we do not reproduce what is trending.
Some have no idea what will suit them. That is exactly what the consultation is for, and it is the easiest of the three to work with, because nothing has to be un-decided first.
Some already have one dress fixed in their head. That is a brief too, and often a very clear one.
Bring the screenshots. Bring the photograph of a gown you loved on someone else. Nothing in that pile obliges you to anything.
What actually helps
Come with your wedding date, your venue if it is settled, and any jewellery you already know you are wearing. The jewellery matters more than brides expect: an heirloom necklace decides a neckline faster than any drawing does.
Raise budget early, and raise it plainly. It is far easier to design to a number than to redesign around one later, and every commission is priced to its own design anyway, so the number changes what is worth putting on the table. Two things we have not published
How long a consultation runs, and whether there is a consultation fee, are not written down anywhere on this site yet. We would rather leave a gap than publish a figure that turns out to be wrong for your booking, so ask the atelier directly on WhatsApp before you book, and you will get a straight answer.
Consultations are private and by appointment only. There are four slots: weekdays 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and Saturdays at the same two times. Ask for one through the consultation form.
