Bridal Blouse Atelier

Designed. Not Repeated.

Every bride is unique, and so is every blouse we create. At Drapemoda, we don't believe in repeating designs or simply copying what's trending. Every bridal blouse is designed exclusively for you, taking into account your saree, jewellery, body proportions, wedding style, and personal preferences.

The result is a blouse that feels timeless, elegant, and unmistakably yours.

Answers to the questions Brides Ask Us Most

What brides ask before their first appointment: about the consultation, the making, and working with us from another city. If yours isn’t here, send it to us on WhatsApp before you book.

  • What happens at a Drapemoda bridal consultation?

A consultation is a private, one-to-one design conversation, not a rail of gowns to try on. We work through the twelve decisions that make a gown: silhouette, bodice, neckline, sleeves, skirt, in-skirt, veil, train, fabric, embroidery, guidance on your body shape, and how the whole look is styled on the day with your jewellery, footwear, hair and venue. You leave with a direction for a gown designed around your story rather than one chosen from a catalogue. Consultations are private and by appointment only.

  • Do I need to know what I want before I book a consultation?

No. Brides arrive at three very different points and all three are welcome: with hundreds of saved inspiration ideas, with no idea what will suit them, or with one dream dress already fixed in mind. If you have inspiration, we help you turn it into an original gown. If you don’t, that is exactly what the consultation is for. The design decisions are worked through together, with honest, kind guidance on proportion, structure and fit for your body.

  • Can I work with Drapemoda if I don’t live in Chennai?

Yes. The atelier is in Nungambakkam, Chennai, but you do not have to be. Brides anywhere in India can book a video consultation instead of coming in, measurements can be taken remotely, and the finished garments are delivered across India. The design conversation is the same one a bride in Chennai has: the same decisions about silhouette, fabric, structure and embroidery, worked through with you over video.

  • How do measurements and fittings work if I can’t come to the atelier?

Fittings can be handled without you travelling to Chennai. Measurements are taken remotely, and the garment is cut to your measurements rather than to a standard size chart, which is the whole point of a bespoke piece. Because how much checking a design needs depends on how structured it is, confirm the exact steps for your gown at the consultation.

  • Do you deliver bridal and bridesmaid orders across India?

Yes. Finished pieces (bridal gowns, bridal blouses and bridesmaid orders) are delivered across India, so your wedding city does not have to be Chennai. Confirm the delivery date for your wedding when you book, so the garment is scheduled to reach you with room to spare rather than arriving in the last week.

  • Where is the Drapemoda atelier, and when are consultations held?

The atelier is at #127 Sterling Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai 600034. Consultations are private and by appointment only, in four slots: weekdays 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and Saturdays 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Request a slot through the consultation form on this page, or message the atelier on WhatsApp at +91 9551 22 00 22.

  • Can I bring my own inspiration images, or a gown I have already seen?

Bring everything: screenshots, saved posts, a photograph of a gown you loved on someone else. They are a starting point, not a template: the brief is to design an original gown that carries what you liked about them. We don’t copy a design or simply reproduce what is trending.

  • Do you design bridal blouses as well as gowns?

Yes. The bridal blouse atelier is its own part of the studio. Every bridal blouse is designed exclusively for one bride, around her saree, her jewellery, her body proportions, her wedding style and her own preferences. Designs are not repeated and not copied from what is trending, and the hand work (zardosi, beading and thread) is placed to the design we draw with you.

  • Can bridesmaid dresses be colour-matched across different sizes and silhouettes?

Yes. That is how the bridesmaid collections are designed. Rather than putting everyone in one identical dress, we build a collection that holds together as a palette and a mood while letting each dress suit the person wearing it. Every dress is tailored to its wearer’s proportions and body type, so the party reads as one bridal party in photographs without anyone being forced into a neckline or silhouette that doesn’t work for them.

  • How far in advance should I book my bridal gown consultation?

As early as you can once your wedding date is set. The consultation form asks for the date so the atelier can tell you what is workable for it. Design time, fabric, hand embroidery and fittings all sit between the first conversation and the finished gown, so the earlier the first appointment, the more of the design is genuinely still open to you. If your date is close, message the atelier on WhatsApp before booking and ask directly.

  • How long does a custom bridal gown take to make?

It depends on the gown. What moves the timeline is the silhouette and how much structure it needs, how much hand embroidery it carries, and how many fittings the design calls for. A heavily worked bodice is a different calendar from a clean crepe column. You get a date-specific answer at the consultation, once the design is actually on the table.

  • How much does a bespoke bridal gown from Drapemoda cost?

Every commission is priced to its own design. Fabric, the amount and type of hand embroidery, the structure of the gown and the number of fittings all move the figure, so there is no single price for “a gown”. Raise budget early at the consultation. It is far easier to design to a number than to redesign around one later.
